Description

Prior Information notice: We are conducting early market engagement through a Prior Information Notice, on a contingency basis, to ensure that external expertise is available to support the Inquiry Group with its investigation should the CMA Board decide to make a reference and should we therefore launch a market investigation. In those circumstances, we would be seeking to establish a panel of Veterinary Experts who can be called upon to provide advice. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) may require up to 3 external advisers ‘referred to as ‘Veterinary Experts’ to provide advice to the CMA Inquiry Group conducting a market investigation into Veterinary Services for household pets in the UK. The experts would provide specialist input on veterinary matters, which would be a priority for ensuring that the Group understands the industry and in order to bolster the robustness of any analysis undertaken. The role of the Veterinary Experts would be to provide the Group with insight and analysis on matters relating to practicing as a veterinary surgeon or veterinary nurse. Lot 1: Veterinary Surgeons This lot would cover those who have a good understanding of the business practices and day-to-day operation of vet practices, hospitals or referral centres, through experience from working as a veterinary surgeon in or with corporate and/or independently owned surgeries. Bidders for this lot would be required to demonstrate: Qualification as a registered Veterinary Surgeon, in possession of a veterinary degree. Recent experience as a practicing veterinary surgeon at a first opinion vet, referral centre or specialist hospital with the end of service. Additional information: Please download and view the complete Prior information Notice on the Delta Portal Lot 2: Veterinary Nurses This lot covers those who have a good understanding of the business practices and day-to-day operation of vet practices, through experience from working as a veterinary nurse in or with corporate and/or independently owned surgeries. Bidders for this lot will be required to demonstrate: Qualification as a registered Veterinary Nurse, in possession of the required Higher or Further Education qualification. Experience as a practicing veterinary nurse at a first opinion vet for a minimum of five years with the end of service within the last two years (if no longer practicing). Desirable experience: Previous experience of a leadership position at a first opinion veterinary practice and/or experience of working with or for a veterinary diagnostic laboratory. Previous experience of working in academia related to the veterinary sector. Additional information: Please download and view the complete Prior information Notice on the Delta Portal
