Description

This competition was for a contract for the provision of post room services and other related services to Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. The contract is being let based on the requirements of Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. However,other founding members of King’s Health Partners, (King’s College London, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust), and other organisations that form part of the South East London Sustainability Transformation Partnership, (such as Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust), and other public sector organisations within the locality may have a similar requirement and may decide to request that the scope of this contract once awarded is increased to include their requirements during the life of the contract. This competition was for a contract for the provision of post room services and other related services to Guy’sand St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT), including but not limited to the provision of a managed postroom service at both acute sites, a mail delivery service including a reliable downstream access postal delivery service for all unsorted outgoing external mail and the provision of a remote electronic printing and delivery of patients’ correspondence. GSTT are aware that there are many developing solutions within this area and the Trust is keen to introduce innovative solutions to meet patient and staff needs that will introduce new and efficient ways of managing the delivery of a postal service whilst enhancing the patient experience. The Trust envisages that over the lifetime of the contract, there will be a move away from traditional postal services to an extension of the current digital offering utilised by the Trust which will result in a significant reduction in the quantity of physical mail both sent and received by the Trust. The contract is being let based on the requirements of GSTT. However, other founding members of the King’s Health Partners, (King’s College London, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust), and other organisations that form part of the South East London Sustainability Transformation Partnership, (such as Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust), and other public sector organisations within the locality may have a similar requirements and may decide to request that the scope of this contract is increased to include their requirements during the life of the contract. Please note that the advertised contract value in this notice is an estimate for the maximum value of the contract over a seven year period for GSTT and its possible partners. The estimated value of the contract for GSTT sites only is 22 400 000 GBP; this figure represents the estimated total value to provide a post room service to the Trust plus the on boarding of new technologies during the lifetime of the contract to cover not only postal services but other related services. Please note that organisations other that GSTT cited in this notice are not mandated to use this contract.
