Description

The four (4) Awarded Contracts are for the manufacture, testing, inspection and delivery of High Integrity Stainless Steel Containers (HISSC) to Sellafield Ltd. HISSC is a portfolio of specialised nuclear waste container products made from stainless steel which have been developed to provide long-term storage for intermediate and high-level nuclear waste arising from spent fuel re-processing and Sellafield Ltd.’s high-risk facilities, the Legacy Ponds and Silos. Lot 1.1: High Integrity Stainless Steel Containers - HISSC - Lot 1 Contract 2 In order to support the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), Sellafield Ltd requires High Integrity Stainless Steel Containers (“HISSC”) to provide long-term storage for intermediate and high-level nuclear waste.<br/><br/>As stated within II.1.4 (short description) four contracts have been awarded for the <br/>manufacture, testing, inspection and delivery of HISSC to Sellafield Ltd. HISSC is a portfolio of manufactured stainless-steel containers which need to be manufactured in accordance with the design specification set by Sellafield Ltd. The design specification for the HISSC products is suitable for repeat, production manufacture.<br/><br/>Each of the four contracts awarded has a supply profile - forecast order profile in line with the published Memorandum of Information (MOI) document which is set out below:<br/><br/>Lot 1: Drums Total = 15,630 equal to 7,815 per Supplier<br/>Lot 2: Stillages Total = Please refer to wording below<br/>Lot 3: Clip on Base Total = 52,000, CAGR Slotted Can Total = 11,700<br/>Lot 4: WVP Container = 600<br/><br/>All Contract Values within this Contract Award Notice are un-escalated figures. Consequently, the out-turn Contract Value will be subject to multiple factors.<br/><br/>As described within the Contract Notice reference 2020/S 222-547357 to meet Sellafield Ltd.’s requirement for HISSC and as an output of this Procurement, contracts were to be awarded to five suppliers; contracts let to two suppliers in Lot 1; and a separate contract in each of the other three Lots. Each of the five contracts awarded would have a minimum supply commitment. However, Sellafield Ltd can now advise that in accordance with the Invitation to Tender (“ITT”) instructions, point 5.6 Right to cancel, clarify or vary the Procurement. Sellafield Ltd has made the decision to exercise the right under this clause and will not be awarding a Contract for Lot 2.<br/><br/>Sellafield Ltd can also advise that Lot 2 will be subject to a separate Procurement process in due course.
