Description
NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of NHS England and NHS Improvement - Midlands ("the Authority") is inviting suitably qualified and experienced providers to express an interest to deliver an orthodontic service in Lincolnshire by completing a short questionnaire to express your interest. Details of how to access the questionnaire is listed below. A need has arisen to provide an orthodontic service to an existing caseload in Lincolnshire. The current contract terminated on 30th September 2021 and delivers services out of Woodhall Spa. The new contract will commence on 1st December 2021 for a period of 24 Months until 30 November 2023 (No extension). The new service will be delivered under an NHS England Personal Dental Service (PDS) Agreement for Orthodontic Patients in Active Treatment. The new provider must have a premise within Lincolnshire; you will be asked to provide the address of your premises as part of the Questionnaire. There will be no more than 45 cases in Active Treatment and no fewer than 38 cases in Supervised Retention. There will be a payment of £662 for a patient in Active Treatment and a payment of £25 for a patient in Supervised Retention, in line with the National Tariff. The current Provider will continue to see their patient base for the remainder of the contract which will affect the contract value at the point of commencement. The estimated contract value will be no more than £30,740.00 over the life of the contract and is based on price per patient whether in Active Treatment or Supervised Retention. The Commissioner is not providing or paying towards the costs of premises . Providers will need to ensure that suitable premises will be available and ready for the contract commencement date of 1 December 2021. All proposed premises must be: - • Located within the Lincolnshire area. • Comply with the Equality Act 2010 and DDA act as set out in the PDS Agreement • Comply with the Provider Assurance Framework for Commissioning of Level 2 Complexity Services - Facilities and Equipment As a result of this exercise a Personal Dental Services (PDS) Agreement will be established with the successful Bidder. However, there are restrictions on who may hold a PDS Agreement. Please refer to Section 5.1 on page 37 of the Dental Services Policy Handbook (link below). This section fully explains what is and what is not allowed in terms of Partnerships and Limited Companies under the PDS Agreement. https://www.england.nhs.uk/publication/policy-book-for-primary-dental-services For the avoidance of doubt, a General Partnership (as opposed to Limited Liability Partnership) would not meet the criteria for eligibility to hold a PDS contract. Please note that this expression of interest has been designed to allow the market visibility of the proposed opportunity and support early engagement.
