MEDITE Europe DAC have plans to modernize their MDF facility with an investment in new equipment called Project Shine. Project Shine involves the installation of the following: • Wet fuel handling system of which the main components are: • Fuel bins • Conveyors • Hoppers • Silo • Dry Fuel handling system of which the main components are: • Silo’s • Screens • Conveyors • Energy plant of which the main components are: • Infeed system • Main Furnace • Thermal Oil Heater • Electrostatic Precipitator • Steam Generator • Associated fans: ID fans, recirculation, primary + secondary. • MDF dryers of which the main components are: • Hot Gas Duct • Face Dryer • Core Dryer • Associated fans • Services + utilities to the above, mainly: • Thermal oil • Compressed air • Water • Natural Gas • Steam • Storm and foul water • Bunds where necessary 2.1 Mechanical Contractor Scope of Works Project Shine has completed the detailed design phase of the project and proposals are sought for the Mechanical Contractor for the Construction Stage of Project Shine. The main requirements of the Mechanical Contractor, which is a non-exhaustive list, are outlined below: • Construction Compound o Potable Water o Canteen/Showers/Toilets o Sanitary ware connections o Access gates o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services • Energy Plant MCC o HVAC o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services • Thermal Oil Secondary o Compressed air supply o Process water supply o Steam/Condensate return o Steam generator water preheating o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services • Dryer MCC o HVAC o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services • Wet Fuel MCC o HVAC o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services o Removal of redundant equipment o Modifications to existing room • Energy Plant + ESP o Compressed air supply o Process water supply including; fuel feed cooling frame, camera, emergency coolers, sample testers o Steam/Condensate return from all soot blowers o Thermal oil o Insulation (process + fire water) o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services • Dryer Modifications o Compressed air supply o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services o Re-routing + reinstating pipework to facilitate new equipment • Wet Fuel o Vecoplan stairs works o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services • Dry Fuel o Compressed air to silos and all new diverter valves o Insulation (spray nozzles) o Testing + commissioning of mechanical services • Existing Vecoplan Equipment o Conveyor modifications o Stairs modifications • Other Sundry Mechanical Works to facilitate the above.
