Provision of consultancy services related to the undertaking of statutory environmental assessments

Description

Cork City Council (CCC) is seeking to procure a suitably qualified consultancy team (‘the Consultant’) to undertake the relevant statutory environmental assessments that will inform an upcoming proposed variation of the Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028, pursuant to Section 13(2) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended). The environmental assessments are to include Screening for Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Screening for Appropriate Assessment (AA), Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) and, if required, the undertaking of a full SEA and AA. The proposed variation is in response to the recently released ‘NPF Implementation: Housing Growth Requirements - Guidelines for Planning Authorities’ (‘the Guidelines’), issued under Section 28 of the Planning and Development Act (2000) (as amended). The Variation will be required to align with the housing growth requirements set for Cork City.
