Description

The European Parliament has 2 medical practices based in Luxembourg and Brussels. These 2 practices carry out duties related to occupational medicine (pre-employment medicals, annual medicals, workplace examinations, etc.) and preventive medicine (consultations, advice, care, vaccinations, etc.). The current contracts (for lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) expire on 31.12.2016. The services in lot 6 are currently not covered by a contract. Estimated annual quantity of services to be provided: approximately 1 400, without this being binding on the European Parliament. The European Parliament's medical officer prescribes a chest X-ray for the staff concerned. This prescription may either be given to the staff concerned in person or sent by the European Parliament's medical officer to the contractor. Without advance appointment, the official shall come to the contractor's premises, unless the European Parliament's medical practice notifies otherwise. The contractor undertakes to perform the examination immediately and send the test report to the medical practice in Luxembourg the day after the examination. Estimated annual quantity of services to be provided: approximately 230, without this being binding on the European Parliament. To support the European Parliament's nurses, the contractor must provide the European Parliament's medical practice with 2 (or 3 or more, upon specific request) qualified nurses with at least 3 years' experience, tasked with taking samples. The contractor shall, on a daily basis (8:30–10:00), take blood and urine samples on the premises of the European Parliament's medical practice (rue Wiertz, bâtiment Altiero Spinelli, 1047 Bruxelles, BELGIUM), unless the European Parliament's medical practice notifies otherwise. Estimated annual quantity of services to be provided: approximately 660 hours, without this being binding on the European Parliament.
