Summary of the work Lead Data Architect for HMPO's transformation programme, directing the Agile delivery teams on our strategy and strategic architecture for our Data, including data storage, transformation, data sharing and Business Intelligence. Specialist role Technical Architect Expected Contract Length 24Months total-Initial 12months-further period up to 12months depending on business need&performance Latest start date Wednesday 4 July 2018 Who Speclialist Work With You will work as part of a Technical Design Authority who are responsible for specific domains. They will need to collaborate closely with delivery teams in a multi-supplier environment. HMPO is moving from a large outsourced SI arrangement to an in-house, largely cloud based and open source based solutions delivered iteratively. Legacy technologies inc Oracle and Tibco. Strategic technology stack is based on Microservices architecture including Java, Node JS, ELK, Postgres, MongoDB, AWS, Puppet, Chef What Specialists Work On Work packages include: 1. Define the target and transition data architecture for HMPO 2. Define data architecture principles and standards 3. Act as Architecture owner on strategic Data projects 4. Define key technology choices for the data domain (e.g Databases) 5. Elaborate and maintain current baseline integration architecture 6. Define and maintain target integration architecture Skills & Experience • Have in-depth experience of defining and implementing target and transition architectures for Mission critical legacy transformation projects • Experience of Big Data technologies and strategies • Proven experience of defining data transformation and migration strategies and architecture for Business Intelligence solutions • Experience of defining solutions for commodity Cloud hosting of mission critical services • Experience of defining architectures using Open Source technologies • Enterprise data modelling, policies and standards Nice to Haves • Experience of HMPO systems or similar government operational systems • Experience of GDS best practices Work Location London, Westminster Working Arrangments Typically on-site with wider team and clients in an Agile environment. Some site visits. Use of Confluence, Jira and ardoq are the tools used to track progress against deliverables Security Clearance SC Clearance is required. HM Passport Office will support the clearance process. The last role I had from here took over 6 weeks to get feedback after the closing date. This is far too long in the contracting world, as good candidates won't stay available for very long. Can we look to speed up the process for any future roles including this one? This will definitely benefit all parties. 1. HMPO will always endeavour to provide feedback as soon as possible. 10. Please can you confirm if you have an incumbent person in this role? if so please can you let me know if this person will or will not be re-tendering for the role as in previous roles you have answered thet there is an incumbent but not if they are re-tendering, also changing the questions to include experience of HMPO systems, this does not seem to be in line with the code of conduct set out by CCS. ONE OF YOUR QUESTIONS:Experience of HMPO systems or similar government operational systems? This indicates an incumbent in place re-tendering?
