The contracting authority is undertaking preliminary market engagement with the market to inform a future procurement relating to the delivery of rail welding and rail grinding services across London. Services under consideration include: • Track welding (repair welds, build-up welding, finishing and associated QA records) • Rail grinding including defect removal and rolling contact fatigue mitigation • Planned maintenance works delivered during possessions or controlled access windows • Reactive and short-notice response to defects, failures and unplanned interventions The authority is seeking supplier feedback to validate delivery models, understand cost drivers, and refine the future specification and commercial model.
