Description
The service will deliver a personalised language and work skills training programme on a rolling basis to refugees who have settled into the Hampshire County Council area under Government funded relocation programmes, primarily under the Syrian Vulnerable persons relocation scheme (SVPRS) and the Vulnerable children’s relocation scheme (VCRS). The objectives of the service are to ensure that participants: — Gain a range of skills that enable them to actively compete in the local job market; — Develop work-focused English language skills; — Access work placements; — Gain recognised qualifications and, — Integrate into the local community. The service will be delivered by the provider in partnership with community groups who are actively involved in the resettlement of refugees into the area and with local businesses. This procurement was run as a Mini competition by Hampshire County Council for the purposes of inviting proposals from suitable providers on the Workforce development dynamic purchasing system: Provision of specialist learning and development services under Lot 4: Health and social care vocational qualifications. The service will deliver a personalised language and work skills training programme on a rolling basis to refugees who have settled into the Hampshire County Council area under Government funded relocation programmes, primarily under the Syrian vulnerable persons relocation scheme (SVPRS) and the Vulnerable children’s relocation scheme (VCRS). The provider will develop, coordinate and deliver a rolling personalised work skills training programme to up to 90 individuals over the lifetime of the contract. It is anticipated that the initial 1 year contract will require the provider to deliver the programme to up to 40 individuals aged between 18 and 60 years who have resettled into the Hampshire County Council area between December 2015 and December 2017. Each programme will be between 4 and 6 months in duration and will have a minimum of 12 participants. Participants will attend up to 3 days per week over the programme period. The contract will be for an initial term of 12 months. This may be extended by a further 2 years on a 1 + 1 + 1 basis subject to an annual review and the mutual agreement of both parties.
