Civil Legal Aid Services in England and Wales from 1 September 2023

The Legal Aid Agency ("LAA") invited Tenders to deliver the publicly funded face to face civil legal aid services from 1 September 2023 under the 2018 Standard Civil Contract ("2018 Contract") in the following Categories of Law: - Family - Housing, Debt and Welfare Benefits - Immigration and Asylum (including work at Immigration Removal Centres ("IRCs") - Mental Health - Community Care - Claims Against Public Authorities - Clinical Negligence - Public Law - Family Mediation - Education - Discrimination. On 3 October 2022, the LAA confirmed that it would be extending the 2018 Contract to allow current contract holders to continue delivering contracted services until the new end date of 31 August 2024. On 3 November 2022, the LAA confirmed it would offer further opportunities to apply to deliver work under the 2018 Contract extension period. The Contract Work awarded under this procurement process will run from 1 September 2023 to 31 August 2024. This procurement process was open to: - New Entrants seeking to deliver publicly funded civil legal aid services; and - existing Providers who hold a 2018 Contract and who are seeking to deliver publicly funded civil legal aid services in additional Categories of Law; and - existing Providers who hold a 2018 Contract and who are seeking to deliver publicly funded civil legal aid services from additional offices / Procurement Areas.
