Leicestershire County Council’s QuitReady stop smoking service openly tendered the contract for the provision of E-cigarette kits to form part of the treatment plan for service users as part of their 12 week treatment programme. These will only be given to service users who are signed up to the QuitReady stop smoking programme and are engaged with the service for 12 weeks or more and are receiving behavioural intervention with weekly contact from a stop smoking advisor. E-Cigarettes would be an adjunct to pharmacotherapy and will form part of the wider nicotine containing product offer. E-Cigarettes will only be provided to persons over the age of 18 years old. The QuitReady stop smoking programme intends to support service users quit smoking entirely. The QuitReady stop smoking programme intends to support service users quit smoking entirely. The anticipated value of the Requirements is up to 50 000 GBP per annum. For the total maximum period of the contract, including the optional extension, the anticipated value of the Requirements is up to 100 000 GBP. The tendered contract is based on current and known funding allocations and anticipated demand for the QuitReady stop smoking service. These could alter through the life of the contract and funding for the possible extension will be subject to ongoing review by the Council. The Council will place an initial, guaranteed order for 500 E-cigarette kits. Thereafter, subsequent orders will be raised for volumes of units as and when required during the contract term. The volume and regularity of subsequent orders will be dependent upon demand and service user uptake, therefore the frequency and requirement of subsequent orders is not be guaranteed.
