Description
The proposed park and ride facility aims to provide convenient and secure parking for staff, facilitating seamless transfer to public transport links in Cork. The facility is envisioned to include: ● Approximately 1,100+ parking spaces (surface, multi-storey, or a combination) on a tarmacked surface, fully lined and integrated/controlled with CUH’s Access Control system. ● Have immediate provision for circa 300 spaces to be used by CUH staff from Q4 2025. Other spaces can be delivered on a Phased basis to CUH over a period of 2 years. ● Include provision for dedicated accessible parking spaces in accordance with Building Control Regulations. ● Provide for secure covered bicycle parking on site. ● Have provision for dedicated covered waiting areas / bus shelters for bus transport users. ● Provide integration with existing or future public transport routes. ● Provide EV parking spaces in accordance with the building control regulations and consider future expansion for EV spaces by equipping the facility with the necessary infrastructure to support an increase EV demand. ● Consideration for future expansion or technology integration (e.g., EV charging, smart parking systems, solar generation etc). The exact location of the park and ride location must be within 5km of Cork University Hospital with good transportation routes to and from the proposed parking location. For the avoidance of doubt the address of the Cork University Hospital is identified below.
