University of Derby is seeking tenders from providers for the supply of psychological services for students in accordance with this specification. This tender is split into 2 lots: therapists and teachers in psycho-education. Tenderers can bid for one or both lots. Please be advised that the University is offering an opportunity for tenderers to meet with key stakeholders at the University and obtain further details about the requirements for completing tender responses on 27.6.2019, 10.00 a.m. at the Kedleston Road Site. Student wellbeing is seeking therapists, who will be based within the psychological wellbeing team, reporting to and working in rooms in a student wellbeing centre predominantly at Kedleston Road and Brook House in Derby (although therapy services are required at University sites in Buxton, Leek and Chesterfield), providing brief, focussed therapy to students, mainly during term time although there may be a requirement for a reduced service over holiday periods. The wellbeing centre will book appointments and receive students when they arrive. This part of the service delivers psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational interventions to improve the wellbeing of our students. This includes but is not limited to: 1 to 1 therapy in face-to-face, skype or phone appointments. Psychotherapeutic interventions to help students overcome exam anxiety, presentation anxiety and writer’s block. Therapists will be expected to complete the CORE (Clinical Outcome Routine Evaluation), as included in Appendix M and the student record initially to set a client up as well as working with the client on the CORE and completing the CORE after each appointment so that full and accurate records are maintained and the University can access reporting information. Essential requirements include that therapists must: Be trained to post-graduate level and must have a minimum of one year post-qualification therapy experience; Hold registration with the BACP, BABCP, UKCP, HGI or equivalent professional body, or can demonstrate eligibility for accreditation and registration; Hold up to date DBS checks; Have experience of working as a therapist outside of private practice for example, in primary health care, the education sector or a secondary mental health setting. Student wellbeing is seeking teachers in psycho-education, to teach psycho-education, to students and staff, on all University of Derby teaching sites, during term time. This part of the service delivers psycho-education within core academic programmes, to improve the wellbeing and academic achievement of our students and psycho-education and training to staff, to improve wellbeing and performance. Some of this teaching may take the form of online provision, for example webinars. The teaching delivered to students includes but is not limited to: — digital wellbeing, — wellbeing and academic achievement, — managing stress, — improving presentation performance, — improving exam performance, — improving performance in assessments, — preparing yourself for placement, — time balance. The teaching delivered to staff includes but is not limited to: — student mental health and the role of the personal academic tutor, — successful signposting and responding to distress, — digital wellbeing, — supporting students (for new academics), — maintaining your wellbeing. Teachers in psycho-education must: — hold a clinical qualification and must have a minimum of one year post-qualification clinical experience, — hold registration with relevant professional body, or can demonstrate eligibility for accreditation and registration, — have extensive experience of teaching adults, — experience of teaching diverse groups.
