Description
Charnwood Borough Council’s current public-space CCTV camera system is one that has evolved over the last two decades or so using a variety of different technologies in response to operational changes and the rationale at the time in relation to public-space surveillance. The Council have undertaken a full technical review of their ageing systems with a view to upgrading their CCTV scheme in line with their current operational requirements, removing the risk of equipment obsolescence and reducing their annual maintenance and revenue costs. This tender package and performance specification have been compiled to address the issues raised by the Council and provide a new digital solution based around the provision of a new video management software platform, a new high-definition recording solution, new high definition camera technology and a new hybrid, high-capacity transmission network. Additionally, a new and comprehensive 3-year service and maintenance package (with options for a further two 12-month extensions) has been included within the requirements of this tender package to cover all new systems as outlined above plus legacy systems that form part of the Council’s new public-space CCTV scheme.
