Description
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (on behalf of the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA) Transport Officers Group) has led a procurement project to implement a Framework Agreement, specifically for the United Kingdom Fire Sector, for Emergency Response Vehicles (Pumping Appliances, Aerial Appliances and Special Vehicles). The Framework Agreement contains multiple lots, some of which are multiple supplier lots (lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9) and others single supplier lots (lots 5a, 5b and 10). The procurement is now complete and the date for the Framework Agreement to go live is 27.3.2017. A Light Rescue Pumping Appliance is a vehicle that is designed and manufactured with a recognised fire pump and water tank with the main purpose of attending incidents for extinguishing fires and has a Gross Vehicle Weight of 3 to 7.5 tonnes. This is a multiple supplier lot. A Medium Rescue Pumping Appliance is a vehicle that is designed and manufactured with a recognised fire pump and water tank with the main purpose of attending incidents for extinguishing fires and has a Gross Vehicle Weight of over 7.5 and up to 15 tonnes. This is a multiple supplier lot. A Super Rescue Pumping Appliance is a vehicle that is designed and manufactured with a recognised fire pump and water tank with the main purpose of attending incidents for extinguishing fires and has a Gross Vehicle Weight over 15 tonnes. This is a multiple supplier lot. For vehicle descriptions, see lot description for lots 1, 2 and 3. Contracting Authorities shall only be permitted to use lot 4 where they can justify that lots 1, 2 and/or 3 are not suitable to meet their requirement. This is a multiple supplier lot. A Rapid Intervention Vehicle is a type of Light Rescue Pumping Appliance. Lot 5a is for a 4x2 Rapid Intervention Vehicle. This is a single supplier lot. A Rapid Intervention Vehicle is a type of Light Rescue Pumping Appliance. Lot 5b is for a 4x4 Rapid Intervention Vehicle. This is a single supplier lot. An Aerial Appliance is a vehicle fitted with aerial capability to effect rescues from tall and high-rise structures and pump water. This is a multiple supplier lot. A Light Special Vehicle is an operational asset with a specific role or purpose, with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 3 to 7.5 tonnes. This is a multiple supplier lot. A Medium Special Vehicle is an operational asset with a specific role or purpose, with a Gross Vehicle Weight of over 7.5 and up to 15 tonnes. This is a multiple supplier lot. A Super Special Vehicle is an operational asset with a specific role or purpose, with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 15 tonnes. This is a multiple supplier lot. An Incident Support Unit is a type of Light Special Vehicle. This is a single supplier lot.
