Summary of the work The Delivery Manager will lead the digital transformation of all DWP offices within a specific geographical region. This will involve leading the transformation of all devices to cloud first, refreshing all end of life devices and ensuring the office is transformed to meet our new ways of working. Specialist role Delivery manager Expected Contract Length 9 months with an optional extension period of up to 3 months Latest start date Monday 4 July 2022 Maximum Day Rate Up to £550 ex VAT per day. Standard 8 hour working day, excludes expenses to base location which will be agreed with DWP. Travel expenses will be payable within DWP Policy to non-base locations This role is Inside IR35 Who Speclialist Work With The specialist will work with the existing DWP Augmented Teams, this will consist of DWP Digital staff, DWP estates and their suppliers, DWP business representatives and 3rd party IT suppliers. What Specialists Work On The candidate will need to have Delivery Management experience and will cover the full remit of a Delivery Manager role. They will plan site/office migrations as offices close and existing sites are transformed. They will transform IT in offices moving to a full laptop organisation with a cloud first solution. They will lead a blended team of suppliers and internal resources, manage plans, internal and external dependencies, risks and provide key MI and reports on progress. This role requires excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills working in a one team approach. Knowledge of Cloud First desirable but not essential. Skills & Experience • Demonstrate experience of working at pace in a large scale organisation and/or Government • Experience of managing Digital Delivery as part of a complex business change programme in an multi supplier environment • DDeveloping site migration and implementation plans forming part of a national programme plan. Escalate where appropriate to ensure the delivery is completed to expected standards and are delivered within timescales. • Lead Project checkpoints, report progress and MI. • Experience in managing Risks, issues and dependencies. • Providing support and guidance to members of the delivery teams and acting as a point of escalation for issues impacting delivery • Stakeholder engagement, managing expectation, ensuring stakeholders are kept up to date with progress, risks and issues. Ability to work as part of a blended team using a one team approach. Nice to Haves • Experience of delivery in large scale complex Estates led programmes • Cloud First Windows 10 deployments Work Location Primarily at the North West DWP Digital Corporate Hubs - St Peters Square, Manchester and Peel Park, Blackpool - although there may be a requirement to travel to other DWP locations. Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per week. At least 40% of their time is expected to be in a DWP North West hub office. There may be some travel required to other locations. The specialist will be required to be online during the professional working day though may be expected to be on call outside of these hours during site implementations.
