Description
The funding for children and young people’s programmes intends to build an inclusive economy, where all children and young people have equal opportunities to realise their potential and be part of the region’s future success. To achieve this, we are reopening the opportunity to apply to the Children and Young People’s Flexible Procurement Framework and inviting a wide range of organisations and providers including public and private sector, independent training organisations, Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations (VCSE) organisations and other stakeholders, to tender for a place on the Framework. The Flexible Procurement Framework will be utilised to procure providers for North East CA investment fund allocation for education improvement and child poverty prevention programmes. Note: Whilst the Buyer in the Contact Details is listed as “North Tyneside Council”, this entry is system generated. For the avoidance of doubt, the Buyer in this case is the North East Combined Authority. In consultation with partners, a programme of work comprised of four pillars has been developed: Pillar 1: Funding an innovative programme of poverty interventions in schools across the North of Tyne Pillar 2: Financial support through the school gate Pillar 3: Working with employers to tackle child poverty Pillar 4: The Critical 1,001 days The project addresses the symptoms of child poverty through Pillar 1, supports families directly to assist in building financial resilience through Pillar 2 and works with employers to further address some of the causes of child poverty through Pillar 3. Pillar 4 is focussed on the first critical 1,001 days to mitigate the impact of socio-economic disadvantage on our youngest residents. The North East CA child poverty prevention programme is currently fully-funded through North East CA’s Investment Fund. Lot 2: Education Improvement North East CA’s Education Improvement Programme forms part of our Education, Skills and Inclusion portfolio and exemplifies a commitment to thinking creatively and progressively about the widest implications of an inclusive economy. We are dedicated to giving everyone the opportunity to thrive - to achieve and access good jobs, working with businesses, civil society, and our residents to achieve this. Our current programme of work has 3 objectives: • School Improvement • Support the professional development of our teachers and school leaders • Responding to local priorities
