A framework agreement for the supply of patient mobility products and services. Prosthetic products including but not limited to, ready-made and bespoke artificial upper and lower limbs and associated assessment and prescription services including support services and patient after care. Orthotic products including but not limited to insoles, bespoke spinal braces and bespoke and ready-made footwear including surgical shoes and associated assessment and prescription services including support services and patient after care. The supply of motorised, self-propelled, and attendant propelled and wheelchairs and specialist seating, and associated assessment, prescription, repair, modification and maintenance services including support services and patient after care. Supply of mobility products, including but not limited to, walking frames, crutches, rollators The supply, repair, modification and maintenance of aids to daily living. Tenderers are required to supply a full offering for orthotics related products. This should cover the following, but not limited to: modular footwear, upper and lower limb, abdominal, spinal braces and a variety of splinting products. The requirement of this lot is to provide upper and lower limb prosthesis including liners, cups/sockets and any associated accessories. Lower limb products should include legs, through hip, above/below and through the knee, ankles and feet. Upper limb products include arms above/below and through the elbow, hands, partial hands and fingers. The Orthotist should have the necessary training, clinical experience and skills appropriate to the range of work detailed below. • fit made to measure and readymade footwear to patients • trial fitting service should be available from suppliers • adaption of patient's footwear • repairs to footwear • lower limb orthoses • repairs to lower limb orthoses • abdominal and spinal supports and repairs • orthoses and special supports for the upper limbs and repairs • spinal braces and jackets and repairs • orthoses for the head and neck and repairs • hip guidance orthoses • full body orthoses • treatment orthoses • diabetic footwear • paediatric orthoses. Modifications service should include: • extra/Extensive depth and width that requires an individual insole shape • bespoke soling and pattern/upper alteration or completely new patterns (e.g. re-positioning seams, shortening or lengthening straps and raising or lowering back height). The successful tenderer is expected to provide a prosthetic service as below. 1) Provide suitable prostheses for all people who have lost or are born without an upper or lower limb or part of a limb by participating in the multi-disciplinary assessment of the patient in terms of: • the patient’s potential to wear and make effective use of a limb prosthesis • the patient’s rehabilitation and/or life goals • any constraints which may prevent satisfactory use of a prosthesis. 2) Assess, prepare, assemble, fit and complete the prosthesis or the repair of the prosthesis in a responsive, rapid and effective manner. The type of prostheses may be cosmetic, mechanical or externally powered. Tenderers are required to provide a full offering for wheelchair and specialised seating products. This should cover the following, but not limited to, manual wheelchairs, attendant propelled wheelchairs, powered wheelchairs, specialised seating and accessories and cushions. Tenderers are required to provide appropriate modification, maintenance, repair and refurbishment. Tenderers are required to provide full offering for mobility related products. This should cover the following but not limited to, walking aids, crutches, tripod, quadrupeds, walking frames, folding pulpit frames, forearm walkers and wheeled rollators. The requirement of this lot will cover a full wheelchair repair service. The following areas should be offered but not limited to: • delivery, collection and storage • repair and maintenance service • modification service • planned preventative maintenance • cleaning and Decontamination • storage service. Wheelchair assessment service will deliver an assessment, prescription and review of service users to ensure the provision of wheeled mobility equipment, (both powered and manual) and pressure relieving cushions and postural management equipment for those with mobility needs, alongside an efficient modification, maintenance, repair and refurbishment service. The tenderer is to operate and Daily Living Aids Service (DLAS) for both adults and children. The DLAS service will include the procurement, storage, supply, fitting, distribution, repair, collection, recycling, servicing and minor adaptations of: The requirements include, but not limited to, the following groups of products: • bathing; boards, seats, swivel bathers, bath lifts, etc.; • bathing; shower chairs; • seats and beds; raisers; • beds and accessories; rails and handles; • beds and accessories; mattress variators; • kitchen and domestic equipment; • moving and handling; turntables and slide sheets; • moving and handling; lifting and standing aids; • seats and seating; rise and recline chairs; • toilet equipment; general; • toilet equipment; wash and dry toilets including servicing; • children’s equipment; • mobility aids; crutches, rollators, tripod, walking aids; • other aids for assisted living. Wye Valley NHS Trust have a requirement for a Orthotic Managed Service, including but not limited to the provision of an Orthotist to assess new and existing patients, the preparation, assembly, fit and completion of Orthotic products and the supply of products as required. This is to take place at Hereford County Hospital and may extend to Satellite clinics at surrounding community hospitals.
