Summary of the work Supporting the full Lifecyle of IT Service management, Security & risk, Portfolio and employee engagement DWP Place (a ServiceNow offering) is a strategic tool within the DWP. Within our Employee service delivery (People Place) product we are delivering a digital movers and leavers project, iterating our current joiners process. Specialist role Product manager Expected Contract Length 17 months with an optional extension period of up to 4 months Latest start date Monday 14 November 2022 Maximum Day Rate Up to £600 (ex VAT) per day. Standard 8 hour working day. This role is Inside IR35 Who Speclialist Work With DWP's ServiceNow tool, DWP Place, has 5 specific products; • ITSM (Tech Place) • Now Intelligence (Digi & Performance) • Security & Risk Management (Secure Place) • Employee service delivery (People Place) • SPM (Project/Portfolio Place) This role is connected to our Employee service delivery (People Place) product and will be working with service managers, process owners and an established agile delivery squad of Delivery, analytics, development, test and supporting administration roles. What Specialists Work On As a Product Manager, you will manage the ongoing development of a product within our Employee service delivery (People Place) product in ServiceNow. Responsible for strategic and tactical product decisions and will be an expert at grounding those decisions in user needs and business goals to frame problems and set priorities for the delivery team. Will also be actively involved in developing product strategy, managing the roadmap and communicating success to relevant stakeholders. As a Product Manager you will also have experience of product management techniques, working independently or as part of a more complex project with other Product Managers. Skills & Experience • Demonstrate experience of working across department or functional boundaries to effectively communicating product vision and gaining stakeholder buy in • Have worked with users to articulate their needs and communicated these to others • Have made effective decisions based on incomplete information using a range of techniques • Have prioritised backlogs based on user needs, business values and expected return on investment • Have experience of creating and communicating a product roadmap, receiving and acting upon challenge from stakeholders • Experience of navigating constraints and ambiguity successfully (including but not limited to technology, policy, regulatory, financial and legal constraints) • Experience of working in a multifunctional team, developing products using iterative techniques • Experience of having successfully delivered one or more components/features meeting a number of successful outcomes Nice to Haves An understanding of ServiceNow and the Employee service delivery modules Work Location DWP Digital Hub sites : 2 St Peters Square, Manchester or Peel Park, Blackpool. Working Arrangments Specialist will work 5 working days per week. The specialist will be mandated to attend site 40% of their working time in line with DWP's Hybrid working policy working remotely for the remainder of their time. Days of attendance on site will be as determined by DWP management.
