Under the Care Act 2014, the Council has duties and responsibilities to provide services that prevent or delay a person’s care needs increasing, provide information and advice that enables people to make good decisions about care and support and stimulate activity to provide a range of good-quality services for people to choose from.<br/><br/>Care and Support at Home Services are commissioned to support the Council’s aims to ensure that in later life:<br/><br/>• West Sussex is a good place to grow old<br/>• People feel safe and secure<br/>• People have opportunities to thrive<br/>• People are healthy and well<br/>• People feel part of their community<br/><br/>These Services are commissioned to support Customer’s eligible social care needs, where care and support at home services are the most appropriate solution to deliver the outcomes that have been identified. The Services will provide care and support at home to adults aged 18 and over who have eligible care needs as defined within the Care Act 2014. Lot Lot 1: Lot 1 – Day Time Domiciliary Care and Support at Home Lot 1 is care and support delivered between the hours of 07:00 and 22:00 seven (7) days per week in accordance with the customers support plan. This may include regulated activity under a CQC registration. Lot Lot 2: Lot 2 – Overnight Care Lot 2 is overnight care which is care that is provided between the hours of 22:00 and 07:00. It can be for periodic visits or for an extended period overnight. This service requires a ‘Waking Night’ care worker who is able to provide personal care, in accordance with the customer’s support plan, as required. This may include regulated activity under a CQC registration. Lot Lot 3: Lot 3 – Live-In Care Lot 3 is live-in care which is care that is provided around the clock by one care worker or a team of carer workers where the care worker lives with the customer in their home. This provides constant assurance that the customer is accompanied to ensure safety. This service does not require the care worker to be providing personal care continuously, as part of the service is to be a constant presence to ensure the safety of the customer. It is appropriate that the care worker is provided with a bed and private area to sleep however they will be expected to wake up when the customer needs assistance. Such interruptions should not normally occur more than twice per night. Lot Lot 4: Lot 4 - Rounds Provision Lot 4 is Rounds Provision which is care that is purchased in a block and called off as and when required. The terms and conditions of this will be set out in any future mini competition/s for the round. These rounds will give priority to a provider to be awarded packages of care within the designated confines of the round. Lot Lot 5: Lot 5 - Emergency Provision, Including Responses to Provider Failure Lot 5 is emergency provision which is care that will be called off in the event of an urgent situation which may require a large-scale response. Packages may be grouped together for bidding and response times may be shortened, dependent on the requirements of the situation. The terms and conditions of this will be set out in any future mini competition/s dependent on the situation.
