Description
The Disabled Facilities Grant is a mandatory Government grant, administered by local councils to fund a range of work that will help a disabled person remain in their home. ENGIE's Home Improvement Service on behalf of North East Lincolnshire Council (the Authority) is seeking suitably qualified contractors for the renewal of a Strategic Housing Framework. The framework delivers the Authority's Disabled Facilities Grants, which provides essential adaptations to give disabled persons better freedom of movement around the house, emergency grants to owner occupiers unable to finance emergency repairs and Home Appreciation Loans to eligible owner occupiers to allow them to bring the property up to a Decent Homes Standard. The Disabled Facilities Grant allows for adaptation of bathrooms for people who can not use a conventional shower or bath. Works for this lot will include conversions to domestic bathrooms to suit a clients needs. Projects are valued between 0 GBP - 10 000 GBP. The Authority is seeking to appoint 7 suitably qualified contractors to carry out the works under this lot. Contractors will be required to complete a schedule of rates, which will form a fixed schedule of rates that will be called off by direct award. Contractors will be chosen in rotation for up to 5 projects in that rotation to ensure fair distribution. The Authority does not provide any guarantee as to the volume or the value of the Works Orders to be issued. The Disabled Facilities Grant allows for domestic home improvements. Works for this lot; home improvement works including as damp proofing, electrical works, plumbing and heating works, minor adaptations to kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, repair/renew/alter windows, doors and roof. Major adaptations works including property extensions, complex cases where major adaptions are made internally to a property to meet the clients needs. Ramps; permanent and temporary ramps to allow access into and out of the home. Grants are awarded up to the maximum of 30 000. In some cases by exception the value may be exceeded and either additional funding is applied for or the difference is made up by the occupant of the property. In these circumstance the additional funding will be determined prior to award of the contract. The Authority is seeking to appoint 7 suitably qualified contractors to carry out the works under this lot. Works for housing improvement work and minor adaptations will be procured by mini competition where all 7 suppliers will be invited to tender. Ramps — Contractors will be required to complete a schedule of rates, which will form a fixed a schedule of rates that will be called off by direct award. Contractors will be chosen in a singlerotation to ensure fair distribution.
