The organisation currently operates a diverse Fleet of 141 municipal vehicles ranging from 2,7 tonne vans up to 32 tonne refuse collection vehicles. Maintenance and repair is carried out in-house via 2 transport repair facilities. The principal workshop is located at Beraghmore Road in Derry whilst a smaller satellite workshop is operated from Strahans Road in Strabane. On occasion overspill or the need to contract in specialist services is required in order to ensure all fleet vehicles are maintained in a legal and compliant fashion. The purpose of this tender is to secure contractors with the necessary infrastructure, technical ability and resources required to ensure such services are readily available to the fleet department as and when required. Preparation of vehicles for Mot and PSV to include chassis/body wash, repainting of chassis, repainting of wheels, polishing of all bodywork, dressing of bumpers and thorough cleaning both inside and out. Fortnightly decontamination of Refuse Collection Vehicle bodies to include pressure washing of hoppers and area to rear of ram, bin lifters etc. Pressure-Washing of vehicle chassis, engine and bodywork in preparation for MoT/PSV test. Ideally this function will be performed at a facility with a ‘Drive-Over’ pit or ramp in order to facilitate access to vehicle under-bodies Diagnostic Analysis, Repairs, Upgrades and Safety Inspections to auto electrics/electronic and diesel injection systems to include to include Mechanical Road Sweepers, Refuse Collection Vehicles, Skip-Loaders, Hook-Loaders, Grounds Maintenance equipment, Tractors, Vans, 4 X 4’s etc. Mobile manufacture of bespoke hydraulic hoses to systems on a range of vehicle/plant to include Mechanical Road Sweepers, Refuse Collection Vehicles, Skip-Loaders, Hook-Loaders, Grounds Maintenance equipment, Tractors, Vans, 4 X 4’s and Static Compactors Specialist Welding and Fabrication repairs to Vehicles and Equipment used within Fleet. Annual maintenance, servicing and repairs to Column-Lifts, Vehicle-Ramps, Pit-Jacks and Trolley-Jacks located at both Derry and Strabane workshops. Where applicable this should include certification in accordance with PUWER and LOLER requirements Accident Damage and Bodywork Repairs to a diverse range of Municipal Vehicles, Vans and Staff Cars. All work to be carried out to the highest standard and in compliance with current statutory legislation.
