Description

The UK Department for International Development (DFID) has appointed a supplier to manage and deliver the ‘Girls Education South Sudan 2 (GESS2)’ programme in South Sudan. The supplier has been appointed for a 59-month contract term. the contract value is 68 400 000 GBP (inclusive of grant monies). GESS 2 will build on the successes of the Girls Education South Sudan (GESS) programme, which ended in April 2019. The objective of GESS II implementation is to provide equitable, accessible and essential support to the Education Sector in South Sudan, with particular emphasis on girls. The supplier will manage the delivery of all parts of the GESS2 programme alongside providing specialist technical assistance on priority areas such as girls, gender and disability inclusion. The programme will have nationwide coverage across all 10 former states irrespective of Government of South Sudan or In Opposition (IO) control. The 10 former states are Central Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria, Jonglei, Lakes, Northern Bahr el Ghazal, UnityState, Upper Nile, Warrap, Western Bahr El Ghazal and Western Equatoria, The supplier will provide effective programme management and specialist technical assistance. The supplier is required to manage the disbursement of cash based grants.
