Family Hubs Start for Life Parenting Peer Support Programme

The Authority is inviting tenders from service providers with relevant experience and ability to demonstrate sufficient capacity to deliver a parent peer support programme. The programme aims to support high quality peer support provision coordinated across a local area to: • Support new parents from pregnancy through to the infant being 2 years old • Promote positive early relationships and perinatal mental health support • Normalise and de-stigmatize conversations around mental health and parent-infant relationships difficulties that may occur • Support parents who may experience parental conflict in the first 1001 days • Provide emotional and peer support to ensure that families who may be experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues have a peer support network to turn to • Ensure fathers and partners have a bespoke support service addressing the specific emotional and mental health support needs they may be facing • Ensure marginalised communities such as the BAME community have specific support tailored to their needs • Work closely with the family hub networks, taking referrals for peer support and referring on when other needs emerge, as part of the Infant Mental Health Referral Pathway The Authority requires Strategic Partners within the following 3 Lots: The tender shall be split into 3 Lots, as detailed below, with one contract being awarded under Lot 1, two contracts being awarded under Lot 2 and one contract being awarded under Lot 3. Lot 1 - Peer support model for dads or partners of the main carer of infants 0-2 years old Lot 2 - Peer support model for parents of infants 0-2 years old who may need support around emotional health and wellbeing and the parent-infant relationship Lot 3 - peer support model to support parents or carers who may have a child with an early identified SEND
