Milton Keynes City Council invites providers to tender for Dementia Information and Support Service (DISS). The DISS will provide information, guidance, advice and support to all people aged over 18 with a diagnosis of dementia or who are concerned that they, or someone they know, may have symptoms of dementia. The service will also deliver a message of the actions that can be taken to prevent dementia and the importance of early diagnosis. Support will also be provided for people caring for people living with dementia. This will include increasing their knowledge and understanding of dementia The purpose of the DISS is to provide people with access to support that meets their particular needs. The range of opportunities provided needs to ensure that a wide range of customer needs are met. This should include gender-based approaches, young onset provision, support for people of working age and those living alone. This list is not exhaustive, and the Provider will be expected to change and adapt to reach new and emerging need. The proposed terms of the contract is for the initial period of 3 years with a possible extension of 2 years making a total term of 5 years.
