This specification sets out the requirements for supporting practitioners who have been accepted onto the scheme to develop a portfolio of evidence against the UKPHR Public Health Practitioner Standards (2020). The London Public Health Practitioner Scheme has been running independently for 2 years. The 12-month Support Programme will • Support practitioners to: o Understand the practitioner standards in relation to their areas of practice. o Correctly apply the framework and guidance from the UKPHR for practitioner registration. o Map and plan their reflective commentaries about the work they will evidence in their portfolio. o Understand and apply the criteria that determines evidence of both knowledge and application, considering what is acceptable evidence for level 5. o Prepare and submit commentaries and evidence for assessment using a standardised commentary template and evidence labelling. o Address any clarifications and resubmissions that may arise from assessment. o Apply for verification once all standards have been assessed and accepted. o Develop key knowledge areas through a series of masterclasses mapped to the practitioner standards including clear aims and objectives and relevant training materials such as workbooks. • Identify practitioners learning and development needs and develop a plan to support practitioners to address them, including the use of existing resources such as the HEE Training Directory for Public Health Practitioners. • Include a variety of methods and strategies to support practitioners in completing their portfolio in readiness for assessment. • Provide guidance to practitioners on preparation of their portfolio within the expected timescales shown in the appendices. • Provide regular activity reports and evaluations for all aspects of the support programme to the commissioner, including an end of cohort report.
