From September 2022, the Flying Start programme will be expanded to reach up to 2,500 more children aged 0 to 4 by increasing the Flying Start target areas in every local authority in Wales. To meet this target, Newport City Council is expanding the Flying Start childcare provision in Newport with a particular emphasis on strengthening Welsh-medium provision. The Council are seeking to develop a preferred suppliers list of childcare providers in Newport. Whilst any provider is welcome to apply, areas of particular interest for 2022 – 2023 are as follows: - Beechwood - Stow Hill - St Julian’s - Liswerry - Allt-Yr-Yn - Shaftesbury It should be noted that provision may be required in other areas of Newport during the contract period and providers will be notified. A supplier networking event about the expansion of Flying Start places and this requirement will be held at 9.45 am on Wednesday 19 April 2023.
