Vehicle Activated Signs
Published
Description
Southampton City Council have an annual calendar for the rotation of Vehicle Activated Signs. As the Highway Authority, Southampton City council are legally required to review and undertake road safety measures where identified. The use of vehicle activated signs displaying '30mph or 20mph SLOW' are used as part of road safety programme in line with Hampshire Constabulary and neighbouring local authorities. Due to the nature of injury accident trends physical measures such a build outs or speed cushions are not always appropriate measures and instead required Police enforcement and / or the use of enhanced signage (including VAS units). With the programme set to continue in 2019 and beyond SCC would now like to procure a supplier for a five year period. This should cover existing works but also allow for some growth in the programme (managing an additional pair of VAS units) if and when the demand for units increase. Additional information: The procurement is expected to go live on the 1st May 2019 @ 12:00. Tender Documents will not be visible before this time.
