Summary of the work TfW needs to procure a neutral third-party IT company to provide support the activities, and given that TfW is a user of Microsoft Systems the neutral third party partner must be a GOLD Microsoft partner and have good links with the local Microsoft team in Wales. Expected Contract Length 2 years Latest start date Monday 2 August 2021 Budget Range Approx. £500k for the contract duration Why the Work is Being Done TfW has several business critical in-house IT systems (hardware, software and Cloud), most of which are provided by external suppliers. These systems need to be managed and maintained by in-house teams. On occasion, the in-house team has a business need to call on a neutral third party “expert” IT partner to provide advice, support and guidance on such matters, e.g. to perform security audits and provide fixes and support TfW in developing and implementing its overall corporate IT strategy, IT security plan, Information storage and backup plan. Problem to Be Solved NA Who Are the Users NA Early Market Engagement NA Work Already Done TfW has an incumbent supplier who has been a partner to TfW delivering the service Existing Team The supplier will work with third party suppliers as well as TfW and TfW Rail Ltd staff Current Phase Live Skills & Experience • Have experience Developing and Implementing an IT strategy for a business such as TfW • Have experience in Project Management of IT Projects • Have experience in IT Cyber security audits and implementation of remedial plans • Have experience in providing support on data and information management strategies and implementation plans • Have experience in supporting companies to select and manage other IT partners • Have experience in Implementation of robust IT Governance processes • Have the ability to be able to provide insight on IT and Digital Services innovation • Be able to provide Technical and delivery support to grow and maintain Azure Cloud environments and Virtual Desktop machines • Be able to Provide expert IT advice on selection of IT services and suppliers • Have a provision of skilled people resources as required to work as part of TfW's internal teams to deliver IT projects and outcomes • Be able to start 2nd Aug 2021 • Cultural fit work as a team, take responsibility for work, ability to work with clients of mixed technical expertise Nice to Haves • Skills and experience within the Welsh Public Sector • demonstrate they are a gold Microsoft partner Work Location 3 Llys Cadwyn, Pontypridd Working Arrangments Working arrangements are anticipated to be between 0.5 and 4 Full Time people, dependent on adhoc business needs at any one time (call off as required), predominantly working onsite in TfW’s Pontypridd Office, face to face with TfW and our other IT partners as well as teams meetings. You mention that you have an incumbent in place, is there a reason why you are not continuing with that arrangement? The contract is coming to an end 2. Can TfW please inform potential bidders who the incumbent supplier is and whether or not they are allowed to bid for this piece of work? Thanks TfW will not be issuing the name of the current provider, all suppliers on the FW are allowed to bid for this contract 3. Are you able to clarify the difference in the information you require between Question 5 and Question 9 – i.e. selecting IT partners and selecting IT suppliers? Thank you.
