The Shared Waters Enhancement and Loughs Legacy (SWELL) project is supported by the European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body. The SWELL project’s aim is to improve the water quality, within the shared waters of Carlingford Lough and Lough Foyle. Through strategic catchment investigations and modelling, the SWELL project is planned to deliver optimised, sustainable capital upgrades to wastewater assets. The works associated with this particular contract PQQ involve the design, build and operation of new and existing wastewater above ground and below ground assets including; As per PQQ document. The works associated with this particular contract PQQ involve the design, build and operation of new and existing wastewater above ground and below ground assets including; Lifford (Co. Donegal): — design and build new wastewater treatment plant for 3 000 PE adjacent to the existing plant, whilst maintaining existing treatment plant operations; — one year operate and maintenance contract of the new wastewater treatment plant; — minor upgrade works at the main pumping station in the town (Sally Gardens PS); — a short length of rising main from Sally Gardens PS to a header manhole in Lifford town centre and a short length of gravity sewer; — minor SWOs upgrade works (extent dependent on network sewer survey outcome). Killea (Co. Donegal): — design and Build major upgrade of existing 850 PE wastewater treatment plant, whilst maintaining existing treatment plant operations; — one year operate and maintenance contract of the new upgraded wastewater treatment plant. Carrigans (Co. Donegal): — design and build conversion of existing wastewater treatment plant (primary treatment only) to a pumping station and storm tank; — septicity control dosing for odour control; — design and Build new sewer rising main (3.5 Km) to St Johnston wastewater treatment plant. Omeath (Co. Louth): — design and Build new gravity sewers for surface water separation in the town (extent dependent on network sewer survey outcome).
