Description

13 SATRE modems for two-way satellite time and frequency transfer with 2 receive channels. Lot 1: Procurement of 13 TimeTech model TIM-10139 dual-channel Satellite Time Transfer and Ranging Equipment (SATRE) modems. Two-way satellite time and frequency transfer (TWSTFT) is one of the primary methods to compare national time scales and to provide clock measurements to the BIPM for use in the generation of the international time scale UTC. It is performed between pairs of labs that simultaneously exchange coded signals containing time stamps. The TimeTech SATRE modem is the standard item of equipment that generates the transmitted TWSTFT signals and measures the received signals, and it is in use in all timing institutes in Europe and the USA that operate TWSTFT equipment.
