Description

The implementation and support of IT Sligo's Peer Mentoring Programme for approximately 1,100 first year students delivered over a four week period in Semester 1 and a follow up week in Semester 2, including, recruitment and training of mentors prior to the commencement of the programme, collation of weekly reports from each of the mentor sessions, evaluation of programme and presentation of overall programme report. The purpose of the Student Mentoring Programme is to introduce an immediate support network for incoming students before they have had the opportunity to build friendships within their own peer group. The student mentoring programme is key to helping First Year students transition from second to third level education.
