C207231 Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme: Medical Assessments

Published

Description

You are being invited to participate in this Request for Information in relation to the provision of medical assessments in relation to the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS). The Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS) provides a one-off tax-free payment to successful applicants where, on very rare occasions and on the balance of probabilities, a vaccine has been assessed to have caused severe disablement, within the meaning of the Vaccine Damage Payments Act 1979. Any potential contract is for a third party to assess claims using independent GMC registered doctor with a license to practise and at least five years' experience. The VDPS is not a compensation scheme. It is a no-fault scheme. A successful claim does not apportion blame to you as a healthcare provider or anyone else. The NHSBSA administers the VDPS on behalf of the Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC). DHSC remains responsible for the policy and legislation that governs the scheme. For more information: https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/vaccine-damage-payment-scheme-vdps At this stage we are seeking high-level input to enable us to assess the market and to inform any future procurement strategy to ensure compliance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Written RFI responses are requested for Friday 27th October 2023. Suppliers should note that this RFI is a market research exercise only and it is not an invitation to tender, an invitation to offer an agreement or a guarantee there will be a future procurement exercise. Participation in this RFI is limited to suppliers that meet the definition of "economic operator" under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. "Economic operator" means any person, or public entity, or group of such persons and entities, including any temporary association of undertakings, that offers the execution of works or a work, the supply of products or the provision of services on the market. Where a participant does not meet this criteria they will not be able to attend the Supplier Briefing Session and may therefore be removed from the RFI process.
