Summary of the work Maximum of four people required to support the Community Project taking key roles deploying hardware to clinical staff. This service also supports development of technical solutions working with Technical Support (Service Desk/1st Line/Desktop Services/Server&Network Teams) to fix/escalate issues, attend project meetings, 3rd Party IT liaison and update Project Manager. Expected Contract Length 4 Months Latest start date Monday 18 June 2018 Budget Range Not to exceed £600 per 7.5 hour day (plus Travel & Subsistence where appropriate) Why the Work is Being Done As part of the GDE project Salford is continuing the rollout of the Electronic Patient System (EPR) and development of electronic documentation for the adult and children’s community teams. Problem to Be Solved Both teams are largely paper based; their documentation will be developed on the EPR, mobile devices provided and system training will be carried out. It will be the responsibility of the Technical Officer to support the deployment of devices. Who Are the Users Multi-disciplinary clinical staff based around the Salford Community setting who are often not familiar with the technology being provided and will require support and guidance when issued. Work Already Done This deployment is part of a significant programme of work to deploy clinical and business applications into the community and the project is already in progress. Existing Team none Current Phase Beta Skills & Experience • • Must have previously worked for a Salford based NHS organisation • • Excellent customer service skills / professional manner • • Previous deployment experience including device imaging and implementation • • Knowledge/experience of latest IT technologies • • Frequently required to handle heavy objects on a daily basis (eg monitors, network equipment approx 5-10kg) • • Required to use VDU every day and for prolonged periods • • There is a frequent requirement to concentrate for prolonged periods of time, this is usually predictable. • • Occasional to exposure to unpleasant (dirt and dust) conditions. Also ward work is imminent to indirect exposure to fluids and/or foul linen is common. • • Full driving licence, use of own vehicle and appropriate business insurance cover • • Travel within the localised area • • Knowledge of IT Products/Systems • • Experience of managing workload and prioritising project tasks Work Location Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust Stott Lane Salford M6 8HD (requirement to travel to additional Trust and Council sites throughout the Salford area) Working Arrangments On site 5 days per week (7.5 hours per day) No. of Suppliers to Evaluate 3 Proposal Criteria • • Technical Solution • • Value for money Cultural Fit Criteria • • Work as a team with our organisation and other suppliers • • Take responsibility for their work • • Share knowledge and experience with other team members • • Can work with clients with low technical expertise Payment Approach Time and materials Evaluation Weighting Technical competence 60% Cultural fit 20% Price 20% Questions from Suppliers 1. In the submission you state that the successful bidders must have worked at Salford previously, is this due to having current, or previous, incumbents in line or mind for this bid? Any resources supplied by the successful bidder must have previously worked within any of the Salford NHS organisations as prior knowledge of the region and its NHS organisations is required. 2. Is the Budget range for the team of 4 engineers collectively or per engineer? The budget is not to exceed £600 per 7.5 hour day for the whole team. 3. Are there any contractors already engaged by the Trust doing this work? We have individuals working on similar outcomes in various parts of the estate. 4. “Required to use VDU everyday for prolonged periods”. This is one of the essential statements, how is a supplier expected to use the CCS answering guidelines to answer this? VDU use at the Trust is fully compliant with Health & Safety Law guidelines as issued by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). 5. “Occasional exposure to unpleasant (dirt and dust) conditions. Also ward work is imminent to indirect fluids and/or foul linen is common. This is one of the essential criteria, how is a supplier expected to write 100 words using the CCS answering guideline? Working conditions within the Trust are fully compliant with Health & Safety Law guidelines as issued by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). Suppliers need to ensure their workers are aware of this. 6. On opportunity 6978, it is £200 per worker. This one (DOS6976) is £600 for four people. The notices read the same, why is the budget different? The budgets have been set in line with parameters for each project and the skills required.
