Summary of the work SDDC are project managing a D2N2 Hydrogen Innovation Project that will compare the performance of two new Hydrogen/Diesel dual fuelled Dennis Eagle RCV’s with two comparable Diesel-only RCV’s in the existing fleet. This will require a level of In-cab and depot-based software to support the performance analysis of the project. Expected Contract Length 6 months Latest start date Wednesday 1 February 2023 Why the Work is Being Done SDDC are project managing a D2N2 Hydrogen Innovation Project that will compare the performance of two new Hydrogen/Diesel dual fuelled Dennis Eagle RCV’s with two comparable Diesel RCV’s in the existing fleet. This will require a level of In-cab and depot-based software to support the performance analysis of the project. Problem to Be Solved The objective of the Software is to provide: • A digital analysis solution for the Project performance • The software/system must interface with the current Webaspx waste collection route optimisation • The relevant operational performance data of these four trucks • The ability to receive and deliver data remotely in real time • To interface with our Depot and Customer Service back-office processes and procedures • Align to SDDC Operators Licence Compliance that include daily vehicle checks, drivers’ hours, etc • To be scalable Who Are the Users The users will be the waste collection operatives, mechanics, and office/administration staff. The waste operatives will use the in-cab equipment to sign-in to a route each day, follow the assigned collection route, report their progress and any issues along the way, and then submit the progress of their work to the office staff (ideally this submission will be “live” throughout the day to let the office staff monitor work progress in real time). Mechanics will need to use the in-cab devices (both software and hardware components) to be able to repair and maintain the units (e.g., safely installing on vehicle dashboards). It’s expected that a supplier will provide training to the mechanics and rules on what work they are authorised to carry out on the devices. Mechanics will need access to the software component to be able to record vehicle maintenance information (e.g., fuel use, time off the road etc.) to supply this data to the Hydrogen Innovation Project project leaders who can use this in their reports to D2N2.
