Description

The National Park Visitor Centre is embarking on an ambitious program of works to improve the disabled facilities and access for its 140,000 visitors. As part of this program, we are looking to install a Changing Places POD near to the entrance of the Visitor Centre. This POD will meet the standards and specification as laid out in the attached document ‘Changing Places: the practical guide’. This tender is for the supply, delivery, and installation of the POD only. All the ground works and necessary concrete pad will be delivered through a separate tender. Water, waste, and electrics will also be ready for connection to the POD, and your installation team should be ready to make the necessary utility connections to the POD. An opportunity to communicate and/or meet with the ground works contractor will be made available before commencement of works, to ensure consistency of installation. We have received planning consent for the POD and the consent allows for the POD to be of the following external dimensions. Height 2830mm Width 2500mm Length 4830mm The exterior of the POD must match the existing timber cladding located in the area adjacent to the PODS final position. The Visitor Centre is open 364 days a year, and your plans should also consider how you would be able to supply, deliver and install the POD with the minimum of disruption to the operation of the Visitor Centre. Please use the Form of Tender to provide costs for each individual element, and a final total cost. A site visit must be made to ensure that a full understanding of the current area and an accurate measurement of the building and its requirements are made. Site visits must be booked in advance by contacting Wayne Lewis on 07854 997517 or wayne.lewis@beacons-npa.gov.uk All tenderers will need to provide a detailed programme of works, method statements and relevant risk assessments. The successful tender would also need to obtain a permit to work from the Authority before any works could proceed. It should be noted that the Visitor Centre is open 364 days a year, and your proposals should include how you plan to deliver this project while having minimal disruption to the provision of service.
