Description

Reablement, Homecare and Extra Care Services are a vital component of the Oxfordshire Health and Wellbeing Strategy, with the ultimate aim of enabling people to live and age well. It has a key role in ensuring people are supported to live as independently as possible for as long as possible in their own homes. Due to significant and unforeseen interest in the Living Well at Home Dynamic Framework, Oxfordshire County Council has significantly more capacity than the current demand for homecare and a backlog of evaluations to join the framework. The current position means that it is impractical to consider new applications and ensure the quality of care provided under the framework. Providers are having to wait significant periods for applications to be considered with severely limited opportunities for business if they are successful. This Council has therefore decided to temporarily suspend new applications to join the framework with immediate effect. The Council does intend to reopen the framework when appropriate and will continue to review the suspension will consider the position within six months. The Council will be continuing to work through the backlog of evaluation of submissions it has already received. We do not require any further information from the Providers that have submitted responses at this time.
