Description

The works are to make scour repairs to the abutment of a small bridge and the associated riverbed. The bridge is situated on the C53 at Idvies between Pressock and Letham (Angus), crossing the Idvies burn. The repairs consist of underpinning the bridge abutment by installing an in-situ concrete scour protection ledge/foundation/wingwall, rebuilding stonework in the abutment and repointing approximately 50% the bridge by combination of hand pointing and pressure pointing. The road is currently closed due to the scour damage and as such these repairs are required on an emergency works basis.
