Summary of work You will be working as part of an internal DWP team ensuring the delivery of the RBAC programme affecting all DWP colleagues. You will deliver key objectives for the programme and work closely with cross functional product teams to build a delivery roadmap and act as a delivery lead to remove blockers and ensure project success and deliverables are met. You will be taking an agile iterative approach to ensure improvements and delivery to the business and end users. Where the supplied staff will work North West England Who the organisation using the products or services is Department for Work and Pensions Why the work is being done DWP requires experienced and knowledgeable delivery management input to support the completion of the RBAC Project and to lead delivery into the second Phase of work (application level RBAC). The business problem Work to address a long-standing User Access Controls risk has taken place over the last year with the aim of reducing the potential for DWP staff to inappropriately access systems and/or browse customers’ personal, and often sensitive, information via the implementation of a RBAC Framework. Risks involve potential customer distress; possible fraudulent diversion of payments; and reputational damage to DWP. Line managers have historically not used the supporting tools, management information and records to help them comply with User Access Controls policy. The people who will use the product or service User type: DWP Staff Definition: Every user in DWP will have an agreed RBAC Role so that they can be sure to have the most appropriate access for their business needs. Work done so far The work includes some mop-up activity to define and agree some roles but the main focus is to manage delivery of Conversion (Implementation) activity involving moving all users from the "old" roles to newly agreed RBAC roles, embedding the framework into BaU and then discovery & design work for the application level RBAC of target systems. Which phase the project is in Alpha Existing team You will be working as part of an multidisciplinary team, with BA's, Relationship managers, PMO and a programme lead along with utilising other internal staff. You will be working in a cross-functional manner, with the expectation to work with wider teams within the department such as policy or Ops. Address where the work will be done Manchester HUB 2 St Peter’s Square | Manchester - M2 3AA Working arrangements Working arrangements will be a blend of remote working and working from the Manchester Hub site, you will spend roughly 40% of your time onsite and 60% at home. DWP Policy on Expenses for Business Travel & Accommodation for Contractors, Interim Managers and Consultants will apply. This includes (and is not limited to): -DWP will not reimburse costs incurred for travel to, or accommodation at, the main base location. -Before committing to any travel arrangements Contractors/Interim Managers/Consultants must discuss travelling needs with their DWP manager -Business journeys must only be made when face-to-face meetings are essential. Authorisation to travel must be received from DWP manager before committing to make travel arrangements. Phase 2 pre-discovery work will commence at the end of January 2024. This work will include setting out a high level plan to see delivery in Q4 of 2024/2025 Financial Year (at the latest).
