Description

This is a Contract Award Notice: The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is an Agency of the Scottish Government Justice Department, and is responsible for the management of Her Majesty's Prisons and Young Offenders Institutions in Scotland. The SPS has across its Estate commercial laundry equipment which requires regular inspection, service and maintenance. There are currently 13 directly managed prisons, a college (SPSC), a combined central store and national training facility and an administrative headquarters at Calton House to support the operations of the prisons, in total 16 establishments (the addresses and locations are provided in Part 3 of Schedule B). The Contract shall also provide services to the new prison HMP Inverclyde (due to open in 2016). The Supplier shall provide a Fully Comprehensive Service which includes all Planned Preventative Maintenance visits in accordance with any specifications and/or guidelines provided by the manufacturers of the equipment, reactive call-outs and any subsequent remedial works, replacements parts, all consumables and any postage and packaging costs resulting from the delivery of the service. The Fully Comprehensive Service shall apply to all Equipment for a period of 10 years from the date of installation (as listed in Part 2 of Schedule B). Following the expiry of the 10 year Fully Comprehensive Service period, equipment will be maintained on a Planned Preventative Maintenance and Reactive Call Out basis. The Contract shall provide: The planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of Equipment and any resulting repairs due to faults discovered during a PPM visit (such repairs will be referred to as remedial repairs); Reactive maintenance (24 hrs per day, 7 days per week) in the event of Equipment or associated component break down; All spare or replacement parts and all consumables required to deliver the service; Management information (including an initial validation and identification of equipment, carried out at the 1st PPM visit and as required the updating of the Equipment list from subsequent PPM visits); Supply and installation of new Laundry Equipment as instructed by the Purchaser; and Provide user and technical training if required by the Purchaser.
