Description

Southport Hospital is looking for a partner to provide a fully automatic fire detection and alarm system to satisfy the area coverage, and operational and performance criteria as outlined elsewhere in this section. The systems primary function is to detect fires and warn hospital staff as early as possible so that evacuation procedures can be implemented without risk to patients and an early call to the fire brigade can be made. Provide central control and indication equipment, and, where specified, distributed and repeat indication facilities. Lot 1: Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust comprise Southport & Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. These hospitals are sited approximately eight miles apart. The Trust provides acute healthcare to a population of 258,000 located within West Lancashire and Southport and Formby. The Trust has a bed compliment of 500 inpatient beds and 50 day case beds, providing the following clinical services. Accident & Emergency Anaesthetics Acute Medicine Acute Paediatrics Clinical Microbiology Critical Care Cardiology Dermatology Elderly Medicine ENT Gastroenterology General Surgery Gynaecology Haematology Obstetrics Ophthalmology Pathology Radiology Rehabilitation Respiratory Medicine Rheumatology Stroke Therapy Services Trauma & Orthopaedics Urology The Trust also provides the Regional Spinal Injury Service whose catchments area covers Cumbria, North Wales and the Isle of Man as well as the Cheshire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester area. The Trust is one of the largest spending organisations in its two localities and the more money that is spent locally, the greater the positive impact this will have on the local economy, particularly for small and medium sized businesses.
