Construction of essential highway infrastructure on a strategic transport corridor enabling residential development to the South West of Exeter. The works include creation of a new signalised junction, capacity improvements and pedestrian and cyclist facilities on the A379 at Trood Lane and Devon Hotel Roundabout. The works incorporate, embankment widening, reinforced earth slope construction and retaining walls, pavement widening and renewal, new and widened pedestrian and cycle paths, surface water drainage system construction including attenuation and outfall renewal, Civil works and ducting for traffic signals, landscaping and traffic management to facilitate the works.\r \r The works in relation to the construction of a new signalised junction at the existing Trood Lane Junction with the A379 include but are not limited to the following:\r \r - Widening of the A379 including earthworks widening and construction of reinforced earth slopes.\r - Resurfacing of the existing A379 throughout the scheme extents.\r - Construction of a new surface water drainage system to both Trood Lane and the A379 throughout the scheme extents including attenuation and reconstruction of an existing outfall.\r - Widening and reconstruction of Trood Lane between the A379 and the South West Exeter Development Spine Road, including the creation of new cut slopes and retaining walls.\r - Construction of traffic Islands, ducting and associated civil works to facilitate the installation of signals to the junction. \r - Investigation and repair of the existing surface water drainage system plus construction of new surface water drainage gulleys, manholes, pipe runs and outfall.\r - Bus laybys to both sides of the A379.\r - A new shared pedestrian / cycle path along Trood Lane and the A379 to provide improved access to the development\r - Landscaping to verge areas and embankments to reinstate habitat for protected species.\r \r The works in relation to the construction of improvements to the Devon Hotel Roundabout to improve the capacity of this junction include but are not limited to the following:\r \r - Widening of the northbound A379 approach to the junction to create an additional traffic lane including earthworks widening and construction of a reinforced earth slope.\r - Pavement resurfacing to the A379, the circulatory carriageway, Dawlish Road and Bad Homburg Way\r - Modification of the roundabout central island\r - Construction of traffic Islands, ducting and associated civil works to facilitate the provision of a new signalised pedestrian / cycle crossing of the A379.\r - Construction of connecting footway / cycleway links to Dawlish Road\r \r The Tenderer's tendered total of the Prices must not exceed £2,900,000 for the A379 Trood Lane Junction and £650,000 for Devon Hotel Roundabout. \r \r The procurement documents are available at: https://www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk. \r \r Tenders or requests to participate must be submitted electronically via the abovementioned address.
