Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (TWBC) is looking to find a first response provision for its annual ice rink in Calverley Grounds. The contract term will be an initial 1 year with a possible four annual extensions (1+1+1+1+1), extension subject to annual review. This year’s event will run from December 1st, 2023 – January 1st, 2024. If future events go ahead the ice rink will open and close at a similar time. The annual temporary Ice Rink has been running in Calverley Grounds for 12 years. Last season (2022-23) it attracted 43,004 skaters, with increased footfall to the area from visitors watching the skaters or who just come along to take in the festive atmosphere. Anecdotally, footfall was excess of 80,000 for the period. Tunbridge Wells Borough has around 115,000 residents, mostly in the four main towns of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook, Paddock Wood and Southborough, plus a host of attractive Wealden villages in the local Kent countryside. One of the key objectives for the Council’s is to improve the economic vitality of the borough and the attractiveness of Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre. Keywords: First Aid, Event
