Description

The primary objective of this procurement is to procure a suitably qualified provider and installer of roofline climb protection systems to Newton Lodge, Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield. This is a three year programme of works to remove, dispose and replace the current Belfast Coving throughout the unit. The replacement requires: Removal & disposal of current 'belfast coving' style anti-climb eaves protection along with the existing soffits, fascias down pipes and down pipe covers. Anti-climb roll should integrate with the soffits and gutters to minimise opportunities for tampering. Replacement of soffits and facias with a tongue and groove style aluminium finish (RAL tbc) Replacement of aluminium box guttering, down with swan necks and anti-climb down pipe covers and any supports/stopends/corners as required for each courtyard layout Replacement bullnose eaves protection. Bullnose solutions only are acceptable, no anti-climb rollers, spikes or toppers are acceptable for this project. Products should be robust for use in a medium secure mental health setting, installation requires no sharp edges on the finished product and to allow no 'holes' gaps which could permit the nefarious storage of items by service users or anything that could be a climb aid to the roof or cause injury/harm. Providers should have significant experience of working in a secure hospital setting and must be prepared to work within the time, access and tool management restrictions required within the secure unit and allow for all site personnel to undertake a security briefing and induction prior to the commencement of work. Works can only be undertaken in one courtyard at a time in order to ensure service users have access to outdoor areas at all times. The plan attached identifies all areas across the 3 years of the project. Costing should be provided for Year 1 only to minimise bid preparation work but bidders should be prepared to stand by the per metre rates provided in the Commercial Schedule for the full 3 years.
