Description

Historic Scotland (Historic Environment Scotland from 1.10.2015) wish to lease a telematics tracking system for their vehicle fleet, which would include the installation of equipment in individual vehicles to monitor fuel, carbon, specific routes taken, and other features. The system needs to have a facility to identify individual drivers within vehicles. All of the data gathered will be uploaded to a web-based software system with user access to allow the collation and analysis of the data into a range of reports. The system needs to operate and transmit data back to the web-based system across all of Scotland, including the mainland and islands. The current fleet consists of approximately 129 vehicles. The vehicles are a mixture of cars, vans, Land rovers and 4x4 pickups. These are based across 38 sites all over Scotland. There are a number of objectives which will be delivered by the project: Reduced staff time in using and managing the fleet; Better operational management of fleet; Better management information and reports, which will lead to more efficient and effective management of the fleet; Contribute to carbon reduction targets; Reduced risk, which will improve the safety of the fleet. Scottish Natural Heritage have also expressed an interest in joining this contract in 2017 and have been named as potential participants although this is without commitment at this stage.
