Description

The Catapult is undertaking a tender exercise to appoint a suitably capable and experienced provider of legal services. The Catapult will appoint one provider to provide the “full service” of legal expertise. Relevant Expertise Previous experience with both publicly funded and private companies is essential. Previous experience with clients in the energy sector is essential. Previous experience with organisations with a multiple funding sources is desirable. Specialist Requirements – Full Service General Advice Bidders must be able to provide advice on the following, and it is anticipated that advice on these matters will be required from time to time: • Advertising, sponsorship and marketing • Banking and finance • Branding and trademarks • Commercial agreements • Commercial dispute resolution • Competition compliance • Competition, EU and regulatory • Competition investigations • Complaints and actions for damages • Construction and engineering • Consumer law • Corporate • Data protection • Employment law • Energy Law and Energy Markets • Health and safety • Insurance and reinsurance • Intellectual property • Litigation and dispute management • Patents • Pensions law • Procurement (including Public Procurement Regulations) • Project finance • Real estate • State Aid and EU funding • Tax • VAT Specialist Requirements – Commercial and Intellectual Property In particular, the Catapult is looking for Bidders with the following specific expertise as it is anticipated that advice on these matters will be required more frequently: • Drafting and review of agreements which may include multiple stakeholders • Advice on Intellectual Property including dissemination, exploitation, retention and sharing arrangements • Advice on contentious commercial matters. Specialist Requirements – Public Procurement, Competition and State Aid In particular, the Catapult is looking for Bidders with the following specific expertise as it is anticipated that advice on these matters will be required more frequently: • All aspects of the procurement lifecycle • Procurements that are subject to OJEU and those that are not • State Aid advice including block exemptions, de minimis and assessments • Responding to procurement challenges. Ability to attend meetings on site at the Catapult’s offices in central Birmingham within 30 minutes’ notice, should the need arise, is a mandatory requirement.
