Description
Rutland County Council requires the services of appropriately licensed Bus and Coach operators, and Hackney Carriage / Private Hire operators, to provide Local Buses, Home to School and Home to College transport on a number of bus and taxi routes. Tender documents show the routes available at the date of this Notice. Changes to routes may take place during the tender process, and / or during the currency of the contract. The taxi transport provision is for a mix of ages, and, particularly for the SEN taxis, for a range of abilities. Some of the taxi routes, which are defined in the tender documents, will require an escort (passenger assistant) with a suitable 1st-aid qualification. Drivers and escorts will need satisfactory DBS checks. Rutland County Council requires the services of (an) appropriately licensed Bus and Coach operator(s) to provide bus services as defined in the tender documents. Changes to routes may take place during the tender process, and / or during the currency of the contract. The tender documentation sets out the description of the expected routes (some but not all of which are expected to be awarded as there are alternative options on the Rutland Flyer route), minimum vehicle size and the annual operational cycle. Bidders do not have to tender for all the routes in any Lot. The initial contracts will be concluded separately for each awarded route within the Lot and will be for a period as defined in the tender documents, subject to the continuing need and available funding for that route / service. Rutland County Council requires the services of appropriately licensed Hackney Carriage / Taxi operators to provide Home to School and Home to College transport on a number of taxi routes. The number of routes and the routes themselves are, in most cases, determined by the needs of the 2016-2017 cohort, and the tender documents show the routes available at the date of this Notice. At the time of preparing this Notice, there are 6 Taxi routes available. Changes to routes may occur during the tender process, and / or during the currency of the contract. The transport provision is for a mix of ages. Some of these Taxi routes, which are defined in the contract documentation will require an escort (passenger assistant). This will be a responsible adult other than the driver, holding a suitable 1st-aid qualification, who will ensure that passengers travel in such a manner that they pose no harm or risk to themselves, the driver, or any other passengers.
