Summary of work The MHRA require a business analyst with an IT/Automation engineering background to support the gap anaylsis and development of specifications to replace the PLC, HMI's and SCADA across all freeze dryers Where the supplied staff will work South East England Who the organisation using the products or services is Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (NIBSC) Why the work is being done The MHRA has a statutory obligation to provide BRM's that supports the accurate dosing of biological medicines and accurate diagnostic test systems. Reference materials are produced by a semi automated filling line and freeze dryers. The function of each freeze dryer is reliant on three independent PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI (Human Machine Interface) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems (referred to as ‘IT controllers’ here on in) that interface between site IT servers and the freeze dryers. The IT controllers are at end of life and obsolete and must be replaced by March 24. A full tender is required as no supporting frameworks are applicable, leading to a stringent assessment of the marketplace via an OJEU process. Support is required in the development of tender specifications via process mapping and gap analysis.
