Summary of the work Specialist required to work in the data migration team to identify source data requirements, assess data quality, map and specify the required transformations from the source to the target data, validate and perform trial data migration in production, cleanse data, and conduct a post implementation review of the data migration. Specialist role Developer Expected Contract Length Up to two years (24 months) Latest start date Wednesday 15 November 2017 Who Speclialist Work With Specialist will be part of data architecture team working closely with the Enterprise Data Architect. Specialist will be required to work with multiple development teams and existing vendor to understand legacy and new data structures, develop migration routines, and perform data migration activities to migrate data from Oracle to Big Data Platform. What Specialists Work On Specialist required to work in the data migration team to identify source data requirements, assess data quality, map and specify the required transformations from the source to the target data, validate and perform trial data migration in production, cleanse data, and conduct a post implementation review of the data migration. Skills & Experience • Have demonstrable experience of successfully designing and implementing data migration, data transformation, data quality, modelling, testing and post production reviews. • Have demonstrable experience of mapping source and target data models, identify gaps, data cleansing, schema modelling (Relational/XML/JSON). • Have demonstrable experience of successfully delivering digital solutions that collect and manage personal and/or sensitive information with appropriate controls and protection. • Have demonstrable hands-on experience of Kafka, Big Data, Hadoop, HBase, Map Reduce, Storm, Java, JMS. Nice to Haves • Have demonstrable experience of successfully and collaboratively working, coaching and sharing knowledge with Public Sector client teams, particularly those with limited agile development experience. • Have demonstrable experience of successfully design, implementation and migration of relational databases to Big data based data stores utilising Amazon AWS. • Have demonstrable hands-on experience using ETL, JMS, Apache Nifi, HDF, SAM. • Have exisiting, valid DV Clearance Work Location Westminster,Victoria Working Arrangments We expect the specialist to work collaboratively with existing in house project teams that are transforming the HMPO business processes/applications. Service design and development must align with the HM Passport Office strategic technical architecture and technologies. There may be an occasional need to attend our other office in Central London (Petty France). No travel expenses will be paid for this purpose. Expenses for any exceptional travel authorised outside of Central London will fall under the Standard Government Terms and Conditions for Expenses as covered in the DOS Contract. Security Clearance DV (Developed Vetting) clearance is required Additional T&Cs We expect this engagement to be outside IR35, however status is assessed on a case-by-case basis. A maximum day rate has not been mentioned in the requirements as the price provided by a supplier will be evaluated according to the evaluation weighting specified in our requirements. 2. Will HMPO be putting the individual through DV Clearance? If the candidate does not have valid DV Clearance, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will sponsor and support the security process. 3. Start date is specified as November 15th, if an SC Cleared candidate requires DV Clearance this does not seem realistic. What flexibility is there on this date and could candidates be onsite with SC Clearance so they can start sooner A candidate should be ready to start from the 15 November 2017. We acknowledge that candidates who are not DV cleared will not be able to start until they receive this clearance. However they will have to be available from 15 November so that they can start immediately from the date of clearance being received. 4. What is the Maximum pay rate? A maximum day rate has not been mentioned in the requirements as the price provided by a supplier will be evaluated according to the evaluation weighting specified in our requirements. 5. Do they need DV vetting before they start? Yes the candidate needs to be DV cleared before they can start. 6. Is DV clearance a precondition or can DV clearance be obtained as part of the engagement? If the candidate does not have valid DV Clearance, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will sponsor and support the security process. 7. 1.Regarding the DV clearance status, if the candidate does not hold active DV clearance and is willing to go through the process, can this be considered, if yes will you sponsor the security clearance If the candidate does not have valid DV Clearance, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will sponsor and support the security process. 8. 2.Can you consider other security clearance ? Only DV clearance will be accepted. 9. 3.What is the lead time for feedback once the application is submitted? The vacancy closes on 20 October. We will aim to interview candidates and interview in the week commencing 31 October. The results would be sent to candidates in the intervening period.All dates are indicative and HM Passport Office reserves the right to amend as required. 10. 4.Any chances of change in start date as the latest date mentioned is Wednesday 15 November 2017 The latest start date is 15 November 2017, which cannot be negotiated. 11. 5.What are the other expenses which will be paid? Expenses for any exceptional travel authorised outside of Central London will fall under the Standard Government Terms and Conditions for Expenses as covered in the DOS Contract. No other expenses will be paid. 12. 6.What are the exact work locations? Petty France, London 13. 7.Any specific format(pdf,doc) in which CVs to be sent later? PDF or Word Doc is acceptable 14. 1.Is occasional remote working allowed? Occasional remote working may be possible, and will need to be discussed and agreed with the manager when the candidate starts. 15. 2.Is there any travel involved in this role and will the travel expenses be paid ? There may be an occasional need to attend our other offices in Central London (Victoria/ Westminster). No travel expenses will be paid for this purpose. Expenses for any exceptional travel authorised outside of Central London will fall under the Standard Government Terms and Conditions for Expenses as covered in the DOS Contract. 16. 3. Is the rate inclusive or exclusive of VAT? The rate is exclusive of VAT 17. 4.Would you consider work permit holders (e.g. Tier 2 General Visa) and EU passport holders for this role ? HM Passport Office will not provide Visa sponsorship. The security clearance will require the individual to have been living continuously in the UK for five years. 18. Will you support candidates without DV clearance? If the candidate does not have valid DV Clearance, Her Majesty’s Passport Office will sponsor and support the security process. 19. Can you give us a steer on max daily rate? A maximum day rate has not been mentioned in the requirements as the price provided by a supplier will be evaluated according to the evaluation weighting specified in our requirements. 20.
